Former NYPD Deputy Commissioner Admits Cops are Generally Corrupt
Frank Straub reminds us reminds us all that when those sworn to serve and protect (ha!) act as drug traffickers, burn buildings/cars, run prostitution rings or take bribes, it "is not untypical of the police profession generally and certainly not untypical for major city departments."
Get that? Corruption is typical of police officers in general and an almost certainty for police departments in large cities.
"But, but, but...there are good cops out there just trying to do their job!"
There are no good cops, otherwise there'd be no bad cops. On that note, why would a good cop even want to work with someone who pimps women, peddles drugs or takes bribes? I guess that's what each 'good cop' has to ask himself everyday he puts on the uniform and protects and serves the populace who is forced to fund his paycheck.
If there were no government granted monopoly on the use of force in a given area, the problem of corrupt cops wouldn't be such a big deal. Alas, that is not the case and we're forced to 'live' with the professional corruption of police. Remember when they were called peace officers?
